Dear Baby,

I have so much to catch up on with this blog, so... I will highlight the past year and write about it as it comes!

1)  Had a failed contract on our house in Texas.
2)  Moved back into that house in Texas.
3)  Life is different, back in Pampa, Texas. But yet exactly the same. :(
4)  4 months after being back we were given Legal Guardianship of a baby boy!
5)  This old momma is trying to get the hang of it all over again after 10 years! :)

Ok Of course I want to start this blog with the happiest thing!! So go down to #4! A couple of months ago there was talk that we might be taking care of a baby boy. The mother said she would not sign over guardianship, so we said no.  If we were taking care of him we wanted to make sure we could 100%, do just that! So the day before Thanksgiving my sister and her husband got a call that the mother had left 4 month old twin boys and a 4 year old blind, autistic girl with a neighbor (who had CPS cases against them) as she was sent to prison for drugs. So my Brother in-law went and picked them all 3 up! 3 weeks later we were asked to take care of one of the babies.  The mother has since signed over guardianship to my sister and I for the boys. We are in the process of getting that filed, then adoption will be next.

Our babies name is Adrian! Will be Adrian Scott Dewey! He is the happiest baby!  Instead of crying he screams!! hahaha He has changed so much since we've got him! He was the twin who would set back and watch Carter, (brother).  Today this baby has blossomed and loves exploring! He is just now realizing that he controls those hands and feet!  He will be 6 months old next week!! We have had him a month now and are in love.  He is in love with us I think as much as we are with him! It is amazing at the motherly bond I have with him! I have felt it from the call "Can you take him?" I haven't been able to work since we have had him, but plan to soon!  So during the days it is just him and I!  I love it at 3:00 when we pick up the girls! He lights up and laughs getting so excited when sisters get into the car!  At 5:00 when Daddy gets home, I can say Daddy is home before Kelley even walks in the door and Adrian is screaming! It touches my heart so much!

It hurts me to think about this baby's life with out grandparents, two sisters and a daddy.  His life has been changed for the good with just those things!! He is so loved! I think about his biological mother and get sick. The condition of these children when my brother in law picked them up was so overwhelming that no one wanted to even hold them till they were bathed. The boys have skin problems due to poor hygiene and it is a daily battle taking care of his condition, still for us. Thinking about the mother sets a flame off inside of me. These past few days have been awful thinking about it..

My biological father (who I have not talked to in years) has been in the hospital (an hour away) for a week and had heart surgery yesterday.  We do not talk and I have no plans on it.  I was told that if we (10-15 of his children) even show up at his funeral one day that we will be escorted away? First of all just like my baby boys biological mother, HOW CAN YOU HAVE CHILDREN AND NOT LOVE THEM?  Saying that is not having children to have someone to LOVE YOU, but for you to LOVE THEM... Putting them before ANY FAMILY, DRINK, DRUG, WOMAN, OR MAN.  Hearing about it from someone who had to see it on facebook that he was in such state, has brought me more anger to fight for my baby boy. Adrian is a Dewey, he is our son.. We will fight for him as long as it takes.  I didn't even give birth to him.  God took care of that kind of bound before we even walked him into our home.

Dear Adrian,
I have had a hole in my heart for the past 5 years.  I have felt this overwhelming desire that I was to mother a son. I tried filling that hole and nothing worked.. It was like putting icing on a doughnut. The sweetness just fell right through the center.  The first day I held you I felt this connection.  It wasn't a dream or a fairy tale, it was so different.  I had to control myself and keep those feeling to myself, because I was not asked to take care of you just yet.

A week or two went by and we were asked.. Daddy and I were so excited to be welcoming you to our family!  (I am losing my train of thought right now, because you are upset in the swing, which you DO NOT like!) My commitment to you is that you will always know me as you Momma and you know Kelley as Daddy, we love you no mater what you do in life.  We pray over you, that you are in Gods Gracious hands and that protection be over you as you succeed in life.  We will try our hardest, the same as we have with Chelsea and Kayla, to do our best at raising you to love! Love is the most important thing in life and if you have it, no mater what life throws at you, you will walk by faith and not by sight! Faith is believing and our goal as parents is to help you to always believe.

God is already into our tomorrow!
Matthew 6:25-27  “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?  Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
Jesus doesn’t mean that we’re not to plan ahead or do nothing about our future. Rather, he’s saying simply, “Don’t be anxious or troubled about tomorrow.” This has been my hope from day one of knowing you were becoming our son.  I have faith that this is true!  My mother carried my faith for a while when life was so hard for me.  Know I will carry yours too.  I write this so that you will some day read how much we love you!  Welcome home baby boy!  I set and watch you swinging nice and calm now, with tears rolling down my face, because of the joy you hold.  You are a world changer the same as your two big sisters Chelsea and Kayla who love you to the moon and back.

Here is a special part of a book that my Momma read to me as a child, that I will soon get you to share with you like I have with Chelsea and Kayla.

 I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
my baby you'll be.

With a complete heart now, I love you,
Your Momma

Worry About Yourself, Tonight!!

If you know me (us) you will know we have a child who was diagnosed with ADHD.  You can read more about our walk, in these other blog postings:

One very full testimony! One of the biggest in my life!

A mother of a child with ADHD

In the first one I posted listed above I told how she was healed!!!  We have our days, but I will not say she has ADHD.  This week has been such a hard week.. I have had it up to here with your behavior, as I have said a lot this week.. But... tonight as I thought I would come to the internet to find fix my child ideas.. God slapped me in the face.. My child is healed.. it is ME....
But...... I have to repeat myself everyday with the same things that come out of my mouth... No, you can not ride around the block on your bike. No, you can not eat before bed. No, you can not watch that.  NO, NO, NO.... Clean your room, put up your clothes, pick up your shoes.. DON'T TRY TO RE-ORGANIZE, JUST PICK IT UP... Every day she comes running in ready to go to the hospital with some injury that most would just jump back up and run with. So my nerves have been stretched.

The past two week have been VERY hard for me emotionally and spiritually, dealing with adult life.  So for me to sit here and wonder what is wrong with my child, when she has been healed and has been doing great since the night she was healed is just heart breaking for me as a momma.  But so happy God spoke to me tonight and said "April, I healed her.  You need to take a look at your behavior this week and take the blame here." Ouch...

Tonight she asked me to come pray with her before bed. I did.  She asked that God would let her learn to be nice to others. (sniff, sniff..) I do not think I even thought of such a prayer at 9 years old.  I am so proud of who she is becoming!  I love her so much!  She is going to be a great woman of God!  Both of my girls are!  My most special times when I was a kid was praying with my Momma.. I hold those memories to heart and love it today when I call and there she is to pray with me.

I never want my girls to feel less than.. and somehow tonight I feel I am pointing fingers to that myself.  So instead of fix my child, it is fix me God!!  Good people come from Good Momma's!! Get your self together, April........

3 John 4:1 I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.

Deuteronomy 4:9-10 Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them. Remember the day you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, when he said to me, “Assemble the people before me to hear my words so that they may learn to revere me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children.”

A prayer I found and Love:

Most loving Father, the example of parenthood, teach me what to give
and what to withhold. Show me when to reprove and when to praise.
Make me gentle and considerate yet firm and watchful.
Keep me from weak indulgence, or from great severity.
Give me the courage to be disliked sometimes by our children,
when I/we must do necessary things which are displeasing to their eyes.
Give us the imagination to enter into their world
in order to understand and guide them.
Give us all the virtues we need to lead them by word and example
in the path of righteousness. Amen.

Blame Game

Job 1:9-12 Satan replied, Would Job worship you if he got nothing out of it? You have always protected him and his family and everything he owns. You bless everything he does, and you have given him enough cattle to fill the whole country. But now suppose you take away everything he has—he will curse you to your face! All right, the Lord said to Satan, everything he has is in your power, but you must not hurt Job himself. So Satan left.

July of 2011 was the first time I have felt like Job.  I am sure if I knew of the story when I was a teen I would of felt it then too.. I remember sitting in the living room reading this book with sadness, with that get sick cry.  Since then I have pushed this book away.. I didn't want anything to do with it.  Nope, I wanted to be Moses, I was not Job.  I was not going to let my emotions hold me down.. Well, during my studies this man kept showing up.. huhhh leave me alone!!!  So a couple of months ago my FB bible group (Soul Sisters on our SOAP boxes) started it up again.. I thought Ok, I am going to do this!!  As I started to read the sadness hit me within the first verse I had read.. I really was struggling trying to read chapter 6, the get sick cry was back.  My kids thought I was dieing because I am holding my Bible and crying like a baby. I wanted to scream. So guess what I put it down and didn't look at that book in the Bible again.  Until, bam there it was in my study before Church yesterday... But this time it was at the end of the book!! Much more exciting and happy!

Job 42:12 The LORD blessed the last part of Job's life even more than he had blessed the first. Job owned fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, two thousand head of cattle, and one thousand donkeys. He was the father of seven sons and three daughters.

This week I have been struggling with "Did God allow this to happen to our family?"  "Is it Satan and if so where is God?" Why, Why, Why???? With anger might I add.  I was hurt, God is supposed to be so great, yes there will be test, but DO YOU SEE US?  I was so mad.. So I fumed with the questions of the faithful-less all day.  I DO NOT WANT TO BE A PERSON WITHOUT FAITH AND BELIEF... NEVER... It was like salt on my wounds to hear "In God's time", "Be still", "God is in control", "God is teaching you something", "What are you learning?", Learning? I felt I was falling.. I was giving up.. Going to file bankruptcy and hope someone would lease to own a home for our family.. With all hope stolen from me that night I set on my Momma's front porch alone, God and I had a talk.. I begged for forgiveness for being so angry at Him.  I screamed at Satan, I screamed at the house still on the market, I screamed at God..

This morning as I dropped Kayla off at School she walked all the way to the door then turned to see if I was still there and smiled and waved!  I got tears.. How many times have I been rushed by the line of cars behind me and just went on, the moment she hit the school grass?? How many times has she looked back and I wasn't there to wave that wave and see that smile??  This is how I have felt all week.. Like DO YOU SEE US?  He SEE'S US.. HE FEEL'S US!! But by my distractions and hardened heart I am not letting Him fully feel me..  I do feel His presence.  I try to thank Him for lots of things through out my days.. I am always saying Thank you God for this and that.. But what have I done with this and that? Does He feel the 100% me? The sermon yesterday was about His presence not being about us.. IT IS ABOUT DOES HE FEEL YOUR PRESENCE..  If you don't feel Him than I am sure it is because He don't FEEL you.  I am going to be more alert and not be detracted or hardened so that I am sure HE FEELS ME!  I want to see His wave!

Satan, STAY BEHIND ME AND MY FAMILY....

I have to look at my past as great, just as I do with the things I have overcame.. <---- That is the best blessing God could give me!! I can not live as if today or even 5 minutes ago was awful.  I have to set my anger free, so that I will be free.  I have to ask for forgiveness and live for the RIGHT NOW!! I can not be bitter to my husband and kids because of the things I feel is attacking us.  Is God allowing this stuff to happen to us, good or bad?  I don't really care anymore who is to blame.  But I will not fall.. My name is April and I am about all things new, not old or dead!

It is time, or getting time, for our family to have our fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, two thousand head of cattle, and one thousand donkeys. He was the father of seven sons and three daughters.!!!  I have to have faith and believe!  There is nothing else to do!  Without God we really are nothing.. I have never lost my WANT to worship and praise Him.  I have had my bad emotional days, this past week even my doubts.  But I will not stop praising Him.. I hold that very close!

God is not playing a game, He wants us to find Him with everything in us.  I will tune in for forgiveness and remember that His Grace is enough!  (Graig Groeschel)  I will keep on keeping on! But there is going to be no blame here.. reminds me of the game my girls play and it drives me crazy... I am sure God is feeling a little crazy looking at me too!! :)

*Arm & Hammer "Super Washing Soda". Baking Soda will not work, nor will Arm & Hammer Detergent - It must be sodium carbonate!!

TIPS FOR LAUNDRY SOAP: We use Zote bar soap in the homemade soap recipes, but you can use Ivory, Sunlight, Kirk's Hardwater Castile bars. Don't use heavily perfumed soaps. Washing Soda and Borax can often be found on the laundry or cleaning aisle.

Home ALONE!

Click to hear: Steven Curtis Chapman-Do Everything (song)

Luke 5:16 “..but Jesus often slipped away to be alone so he could pray.”

When Jesus was in the desert for 40 days, He ate nothing... he was hungry, and tempted by the Devil.  The Devil said "tell this stone to become bread." Jesus said "Man can not live on bread alone." The Devil said "If you worship me you can become the King of all Kingdoms." The Devil tested Jesus asking Him "If you are the son of God..." Jesus knew to not test God.  He knew the Spirit of the Lord was upon Him!  Jesus went on his way and was rejected in Nazareth.  He went on spoke a evil spirit out of a man. He healed many people. He preached the good news! He made disciples out of Simon and his partners, James and John, the sons of Zebedee. Jesus said to Simon, after he had listened to him about how and where to fish,  "Don't be afraid; from now on you will be catching people." Jesus went on and healed another man of a skin disease. He wanted no glory for it.  He told the man "Don't tell anyone, but go get examined and show everyone".  Jesus did what next?? He did not stand on a hill side, showing his gratefulness as everyone started gathering to see this healer.  He left and went somewhere ALONE to pray!!

Today I am HOME ALONE!! Last week I thought YES!!! I can get things done, with Kelley at work and the girls off to school!! Well I have spent two hours, just me and God!! And the cats and dog of course!! I realized, I AM NEVER ALONE!! And I am so happy for that!!  People say that all the time, I have heard it all my life.  When I want ALONE time, I get it and.... I am wrapped up in His word to much to want to do anything!! :)  God has called me to be a Wife and a Mother.. That was my dream from when I was a child! I wanted to be married and have two kids.. well guess what?? To no surprise that is what He gave me!  I also wanted to live on a farm.. have cows in my back yard, little picked fenced porch,  a garden, trees everywhere..  (Still could happen, we have no strings tying us down to anything material, God has shown us that He is in control!)  What would I do if I did not have God during my ALONE times?  I would be a mess in stress, such as "No one helps me keep this house clean, why do I always have to do laundry, why can't someone else cook, why O' why????"  I have complained A LOT about those stupid little things before in the past. But this morning, my eyes have been opened to, if I do not start the day off with my ALONE time in prayer, I will ask WHY O' WHY all the time.. How miserable is that?  Very!! I am to do EVERYTHING I do unto the GLORY of the Lord!!

Colossians 3:23
Whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly as though you were working for your real master and not merely for humans.
This is mine!!! Get your own.. haha!! This scripture hit me hard this morning!!

Jesus did good things and still does, how?  I don't think that it was just because he was the chosen one, it was because we are all created in Him.. Jesus was faithful and He spent His time in prayer and wanted God to be glorified! WE can all do good things!!!

  Matthew 14:13-14
“When Jesus heard what had happened to John, he left in a boat and went to a lonely place by himself. But the crowds heard about it and followed him on foot from the towns. When he arrived, he saw a great crowd waiting. He felt sorry for them and healed those who were sick.”

Each morning the girls and I pray in the car before school.  I love it!  That is one of my very favorite times of my day!  This morning after I dropped them off, all of this hit me.. Nothing like driving home and getting hit in the face over and over.. I was able to stay focused on the road, but do not remember any driving!! :)  I must tell our girls how important it is to start each day with this.. I want it to become a habit for them, with them never over looking it.  I want to show them how Jesus always prayed.. How important for us all to have our ALONE time to do such a thing.  My Momma always prayed.. We were taught to pray.. Praise him and ask for forgiveness! Always!!  Still as adults, we have a praise or trouble we call Momma!!  I want my girls to live that! To know that whatever comes their way in life, that the Spirit of the Lord is upon them, always!!! To be faithful enough to know temptation and to never test God! To always "walk by faith, and not by site!" And to always, always give Him the Glory!!

So I can thank Him this morning for my so called ALONE time as He called me closer to Him! I am never ALONE, this I know!! He loves me for always!  I was made to be a wife and a momma!  Any time before that is with Him!!  Love you!

BLOOM and grow!

Lord of all the earth
We shout Your Name, shout Your Name
Filling up the skies
With endless praise, endless praise
Yahweh, Yahweh
We love to shout Your Name, Oh Lord

There is no one like our God
We will praise You, praise You
There's no one like our God
We will sing, we will sing (X2)
There is no one like our God
We will praise You, praise You
Jesus, You are God, we will say

 Psalms 149:3
 3 Praise his name with dancing;
play drums and harps in praise of him.
Music is just a gift and the most spiritual drawing thing to me.  Just the other day I heard a song on the radio and it put me right back into the place I was when the song was a hit.  I had the same feelings come back to me when I heard it, as the day I use to listen to it.  When I hear Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me", it takes me back to singing into a hair brush with my Momma at 15 years old! :) The Dixie Chicks? When Kelley and I first started dating! "The Old Rugged Cross", singing in Church as a little girl!

Music is one of God's special gifts He gives! This morning I heard "At Your Name", tears feel as it took me back to one, being back in Texas worshiping with our Church family at Trinity Fellowship and two, it took me back to the day we pulled out of Pampa, moving to Oklahoma.  Chelsea and I were following the U haul, so for miles all we seen was RENT ME $29.99 (yeah, right)! This song came on and I started crying so heavy, Chelsea kept asking me if I was ok.  I kept telling her yes, God is just so darn awesome, but the tears kept flowing.. And she could feel the joy and tears started flowing down her face, as we both just screamed YAHWEH, YAHWEH!  We had been in prayer for this move for the past 8 months, with the dream for the past couple of years and it was happening, not knowing where we were really going, what we were going to do, just following what God had opened up, and this song said it all! There is no one like our God We will praise You! With endless praise, endless praise Yahweh, Yahweh We love to shout Your Name, Oh Lord! God was doing it!  It was out of our hands and we were on the road!  We gave the dream of moving to God months before, like in February 2011 when we found out Kelley could possible lose his job in July.  So onto the next step in life where God wanted us to go.

I went on a Walk to Emmaus in 2005 and parts of one of the songs of blessings read this:
Thank you God, for this day,
Bless all those who greet it.
May your love glow with peace,
May your love go forth from us.

Friendship and peace may they bloom and grow,
Bloom and grow forever.
Bless our friends, bless our work
Bless each of us forever.

This song takes me back to swaying back and forth and yelling BLOOM!! :)

Today the sun is shinning, I just heard a goose coming from behind my house, I am ready to plant new flowers, I put weed and feed out on the lawn last night!! This reminds me to BLOOM AND GROW! Bloom where I am planted!

1 Corinthians 3:7
7 The one who plants and the one who waters really do not matter. It is God who matters, because he makes the plant grow.

Just like this picture of this Rose Moss, that I am planting today by the way..  It is called Grandma's flower to me!  My grandma always had a big barrel filled with rose moss at her door.  I make sure and have some each year!  This seed planted it's self in a bed of bricks!! But God knows it's beauty and made it to grow! That is what He intended to do with this flower, make it grow anywhere, just like He did us!  This morning I pray God lets my light shine, so I can BLOOM AND GROW! I give Him praise for His gift of music to speak to my soul on a daily bases!

"Create in me a clean heart, O God;
and renew a right spirit within me."   Psalm 51:10

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen.

The Power of Blessings

Act. 27:21-25
21-22With our appetite for both food and life long gone, Paul took his place in our midst and said, "Friends, you really should have listened to me back in Crete. We could have avoided all this trouble and trial. But there's no need to dwell on that now. From now on, things are looking up! I can assure you that they'll not be a single drowning among us, although I can't say as much for the ship—the ship itself is doomed.
23-26"Last night God's angel stood at my side, an angel of this God I serve, saying to me, 'Don't give up, Paul. You're going to stand before Caesar yet—and everyone sailing with you is also going to make it.' So, dear friends, take heart. I believe God will do exactly what he told me. But we're going to shipwreck on some island or other."

Paul knew God was with him.   We have been encouraged knowing that we do not know how long the storm will take, but that God is with us!  Paul knew he belonged to God.  Every day I remind myself that I belong to God as a baby to a daddy, as a wife to a groom, as a sheep to a Shepherd.  God knows you will make it, He is not frustrated in you.  He isn't doubting you. God is not worried.  IF GOD ISN'T, THAN NEITHER SHOULD YOU!!

In Act. 27:25 Paul says " I believe God will do exactly what he told me."  He has trust in God, he didn't know when or how, but he knew God did!  I keep reminding myself of this.  Yesterday, God sent HOPE to us, more than we have received in a while.  Why now?  Why so long?  Because to me letting go and letting God has been my biggest struggle.   I have let go! We have tried to figure out things for the past 3 months, those things we gave to God a few weeks ago.  There just isn't away for us to take care of those problems.. There isn't.. We have never relied on God with such big things in our life. Shame on us.  To me it seems lazy and careless for someone to say I am not worried, God is taking care of us.  I have heard people say that and been like WHAT?? Crazy people, you have to help yourself!! Well I am learning you can't help yourself other than the way you handle it.  Nothing I can do can help us in the mess we are in.. NOTHING.. I can help it, but I can't fix it.  Neither can Kelley.  I am telling you living one day at a time has changed my life!  Like a homeless man who is just living for today, so am I.  This is where I feel the word judged.. why? Because I have judged those who have FROG (Fully Relied On God).  I ask for forgiveness this morning as I am embarrassed of how I have reacted to others in my life.  I thank God for those people He has put in my life now, as I look back at their stories!

Yesterday we did our taxes, YUCK.. But the lady who did them was amazing!  She was so fun to work with!  We was in and out in less than an hour!  She gave us great news!  We have financial ways coming!!  So pumped up about that, as the stress left our body's, we get home and what do you know there is money in our mail box, in two different envelopes!  THEN, my sister goes to the Dr. and they tell her that her cancer is not in her blood!! AWESOME!!  It doesn't matter the problem, God is in control!

Our blessings yesterday gave us HOPE for today!  God knows our desires and maybe that is why we are not succeeding in what we think today should be..  We have what we need.  I have wanted to be a stay at home mom for a couple of years now.  This last year I missed things with my girls at school, because I was cleaning someones house?? What in the world??  This is where it comes into play for me that I will not conform the ways of this world.  I want us to be able to pay our bills, eat, and to have a little to enjoy time with each other and with those we love and to be able to help those God puts in our path like some have helped us.. that is it!! We don't care to be rich, we just want to know things are taking care of.  I will start school in March, then what?  Well God must have great things since I do not have a job today!  God knows that March is in one month!!!  I stress because I don't have a job today and am not helping financially.  But I know God KNOWS why!!  Once I start in March, I will be taking more classes for the next two years as I am working as a Physical Therapy Tech to become an Assistant.  So thank you God for giving me this 3-4 month break, to enjoy my family and to be growing in you more for the next step in my life, if that is what you are doing!  I know the road you have ahead of me is going to be trying, but I know that You are the power of all the blessings in our lives!

God works for those who love Him!  It does not matter the problem... God is in control every minute of my life!  He knows what is best for my husband, my self, and for my children!

In this song "My Own Little World" Matthew West say's it best for my heart today!

What if there’s a bigger picture?
What if I’m missing out?
What if there’s a greater purpose
I could be living right now?
Outside my own little world oooh

What is wrong today, will be a BLESSING tomorrow, if you just trust in God so He can show His POWER!  I trust in God today more than ever in my life.  All He is doing is making me fall in love with Him more!   By you BLESSING someone around you, you are giving HOPE to them.  I want to be a BLESSING!
